Dolphin Cottage, dating from at least the17th century, was once one of several village ale houses, ‘The Dolphin’, and was subsequently home for many years to the village carter. It has now been lovingly renovated and restored. Historical details, such as the magnificent beamed ceiling in the sitting room, the inglenook fireplace and the quaint, winding staircase were discovered and now give great charm and character to the cottage.
The cottage is decorated with traditional paint colours, in keeping with its historical simplicity, and is furnished with a stylish mixture of quality contemporary designer furniture and polished antiques.
Awarded the top quality grading of 5 stars in 2010 by EnjoyEngland, the official tourism grading body for England, you can be assured of excellence in the quality of the cottage, its cleanliness and your welcome.
Overlooking fields with wonderful walks on the doorstep, the cottage is fully wi-fi enabled. Off road parking for 3 cars is available. Children of all ages are welcomed.
Relax in the pretty cottage garden, with its south westerly aspect with sunshine on the terrace area through til late on summer evenings. Or, after a day of winter walking in the surrounding countryside, draw the curtains and snuggle down for the evening in the cosy, warm sitting room around the woodburning stove.
